Spotty areas of damage were seen in a research trial in Hyde county. The soybean growth stage at the time of scouting was VC (vegetative cotyledon) and damage was worse on the cotyledons. Maturity groups 2 through 7 were planted, and equal amounts of damage was seen across maturity groups. The planting date was 3/21/23 and Envive was applied PRE at planting.
Conclusion
Valor injury was confirmed by a NC State Extension Specialist. The cool temperatures and heavy rainfall event following planting could have synergized symptomology.
